Review: Flirting In Italian by Lauren Henderson

Flirting in Italian (Flirting in Italian #1)Author: Lauren Henderson
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Number of Pages: 336

Synopsis:
"Four girls. One magical, and possibly dangerous Italian summer. Family mysteries, ancient castles, long hot nights of dancing under the stars . . . and, of course, plenty of gorgeous Italian boys!"

Yeah...not much to it, but that's a cute cover. A real eye catcher.

I don't have a lot to say about this book. I really was expecting more from this book. This book was supposed to be about Violet finding a painting, and in the painting the girl looks exactly like her, but the book was about her liking a guy named Luca and someone trying to destroy her. Like what happened? Luckily there is a sequel so I didn't give this book a two. Honestly, if the book's synopsis wasn't misleading this would be an amazing book and I probably would have giving it a four. The thing is, is that I went into this book because I wanted to read about a girl who found this girl in a painting that looks just like her. I would have liked if she had to deal with Luca on the side, but Luca took over the whole plot.

Then in the middle of the book we discover that one of Luca's relatives looks just like Violet as well. Umm...WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!?!? The author made this way more confusing then it should have been. This looks like one of those books where you just sit down and relax for the rest of the ride...well, that didn't happen. This book was really disappointing.

I really did enjoy reading this book though. If they changed up the synopsis then this could be a real amazing book. The synopsis could be more on the lines of a girl named Violet finding a painting whose subject looks just like her. So she embarks on a trip to Italy to find out more on this trip, but instead she meets a gorgeous guy whose somewhat royal and there is somewhat out there who wants to hurt her. That would be a more accurate description of the book.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
