Review: Sometimes It Lasts by Abbi Glines

Sometimes It Lasts (Sea Breeze, #5)Author: Abbi Glines
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Number of Pages: 288

Here's the synopsis:
"Cage York has to choose between a love of the game and a love of the girl in this sultry Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.
After waiting for his big break, bad boy Cage York is finally called up to prove his worth in the college baseball arena. But when Cage’s girlfriend, Eva, mourns the sudden loss of her father, it’s not Cage’s comforting arms she runs to, but those of her former fiancĂ©’s twin brother, Jeremy.
Torn between his baseball dream and the girl of his dreams, Cage must prove he’s worthy of Eva’s love, or risk losing her to Jeremy forever. "
This book left me speechless and there is only one word to describe this book, perfect.

I adored this book. While It Lasts is my favorite out of the Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines so when I heard she was coming out for Cage, I was ecstatic!! I'm just in the corner getting my fangirl on while my family looks at me like I'm a weirdo. Yeah...that's true.

Cage York is just another really amazingly hot country guy who has a dream of playing baseball. He's finally gotten the baseball scholarship he's always wanted but it means leaving Eva so she can stay with her sick father. It's only for a few weeks at a time, what could go wrong right?

Yeah, no. A LOT can go wrong as we all know.
"I will never , and I mean fucking never regret choosing you. Nothing is more important than you Eva Brooks. Nothing."
This book tore my heart to shreds in a way that no book has ever done to me. As I was reading I could feel my throat constricting more than once. I desperately felt like crying but I held it back because I knew the tears would make the page all blurry. This book was the king of all Abbi Glines books that I have read so far, and I am just worshipping her, and bowing down to her right now. Never have I been so happy to be a total nerd when it comes to books.
“My future doesn’t matter if Eva isn’t in it.”
I definitely like this book more than While It Lasts, not because that wasn't as good as this one is considering all aspects. They actually come at a very close tie, the one thing that really made me love this one better is two concepts that this book incorporated it in.

Trust and loss.

Trust is crucial in any relationship and people have different understandings of what it means. Cage and Eva both had the basic of it but at the same time it was different. Cage thought thought since Eva wasn't exactly happy with him she didn't trust her while she just needed to think about things.

Loss has to be the biggest thing in this book. Cage has never experienced loss after he's learned to love that person until Eva. Eva has to continuously experience loss again and again. First her mother, then Josh, and now she has to lose her daddy. This sense of loss can definitely change a person's thoughts and the way they handle things and that is shown in this book.

I feel as if this book had more lessons in it then While It Lasts so it stuck with me more. Abbi Glines has definitely reached my heart with this book and as much as it tortured me and choked me up, I definitely am adding this to my favorites list.

Thank you Abbi Glines for another AMAZING book and letting me thank past me for picking up one of your books (Breathe) for the first time. Cage Forever! XOXO

Also, for the rating...Mrs. Glines you get the special privilege for getting my second ever 6 out of 5 star rating. The only other book to get this rating was The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay!

Rating: 6 out of 5 stars!!!
